Outreach to Asia Nationals was raised up by God for the purpose of church planting in restricted access countries in Asia. In the words of its founder, Otis Goodwin, “OTAN was started in 1986 as I had just returned from a trip to China where I had the opportunity to meet many Christians. I saw the Chinese Christians struggling because of lack of Bibles, Christian materials, Biblical doctrinal training and financial support. The Lord impressed upon me the need to do something to provide and equip them to do the work of the ministry to their own peoples and thus OTAN began.”
OTAN was established in October of 1986 in the Goodwin’s spare bedroom. In 1990 the ministry was moved to a beautiful, fifty-one acre property where an existing building was rebuilt into office space. In November of 2006, a dedication service was held for a two story addition onto the office building. There is a growing home office staff and a branch office as well as representatives around the country.
The death of our founder, Otis Goodwin, in July of 2007 brought a restructuring of the organization. In September of 2008, a new Executive Director was appointed, operating under the direction of a Board of Directors.

Over the years, the ministry of OTAN has expanded to other countries in Asia. Outreach to Asia Nationals is focused on assisting national believers to do what we cannot, so that the Gospel may reach unto the uttermost part of the earth.
